Our newest program for 4th grade classes! Come join us for a day on the farm to get students excited about Oregon’s history through scarecrow making and hands-on activities.
Prior to the event each student chooses and creates one famous historic figure of Orgon’s history to represent as a scarecrow (face, clothing & accessories), to be displayed at Hanley Farm during the October 8th event.
On October 8th students will arrive at Hanley Farm for a series of rotation-based, hands-on activities. There will be five themed stations where students will learn about different aspects of Oregon’s history, each station is tied into their year’s curriculum.
- Historic figure scavenger hunt (using student-made scarecrows)
- Native American traditions in Oregon
- Agricultural traditions
- Old-time entertainment
- Wool processing, dress up & photo booth
This program is open to 4th grade classes only
