Two session are offered: 8:40 AM – 11:35 AM & 11:35 AM – 2:00 PM

Our newest program for 4th grade classes! Come join us for a day on the farm to get students excited about Oregon’s history through scarecrow making and hands-on activities. 

Scarecrow making!

Prior to the event each student chooses and creates one famous historic figure of Orgon’s history to represent as a scarecrow (face, clothing & accessories), to be displayed at Hanley Farm during the October 8th event.

Hands-on activities!

On October 8th students will arrive at Hanley Farm for a series of rotation-based, hands-on activities. There will be five themed stations where students will learn about different aspects of Oregon’s history, each station is tied into their year’s curriculum.

  1. Historic figure scavenger hunt (using student-made scarecrows)
  2. Native American traditions in Oregon
  3. Agricultural traditions
  4. Old-time entertainment
  5. Wool processing, dress up & photo booth

 

Fee: $4/student

This program is open to 4th grade classes only
